A Simple Idea

Andreas Warren Matti was supposed to become an artist. But he decided to become a photographer. Now he is stuck in a world between art and photography, trying to be a commercial fashion photographer. His latest project is called “Sweatlight”,and was inspired by a mere look at the contents of his holiday suitcase. “Just before last Christmas (2012) I was getting ready to go up to the Alps. I remembered having some warm sweatshirts stored in a suitcase. As I opened the suitcase and went through some of my winter clothes, I suddenly remember saying to myself: Cheeez, don‘t I have a lot of striped sweatshirts!”

This sight instantly shaped into an artistic idea in Andreas’ head. He originally intended to take a picture of all the sweatshirts next to each other, lined up to their stripes. Instead, this idea evolved into a 4 day project. Check out the witty adventures of Andreas’ sweatshirts!

Well, as my teacher once put it... Warren, you don't do fashion... Haha HA!
So, please explain to me once again, what exactly is fashion??

I've been nominated and gained the title "Honorable Mention" in the category of Fashion by the 6th Annual Photography Masters Cup (The International Award Honoring Color Photography - International Color Awards). Yes! It is always nice being part of something like this and having your work recognized.

LOS ANGELES 06.04.2013 - Professional photographer Andreas Warren Matti of Switzerland was presented with the 6th Annual Photography Masters Cup Honorable Mention in the category of Fashion at a prestigious Nomination & Winners Photoshow. The live online ceremony webcast Saturday, February 16, 2013 was attended by photography fans in 86 countries who logged on to see the climax of the industry's most important event for color photography.

The awards international Jury included captains of the industry from Phillips de Pury & Company in New York; Kunst Licht Gallery, Shanghai; XPO Gallery, Paris; Tasveer Galleries, India; BFN, Netherlands; to BBH in London who honored Color Masters with 239 coveted title awards in 18 categories.
